About Sasha Shuttleworth
Selected as one of Bart Bogyl and Heggarty’s UNSIGNED class of 2019, Sasha is a social documentary photographer radio presenter/ producer, illustrator, and writer based in the UK.
Core to her portrait work is a reflexive practice that prioritizes the subject’s voice as a collaborator. Her portraits aim to show exactly who that person was in that moment in time before they begin to change again. A dedication to creating a truthful image in collaboration with the subject, and a deeply held reverence for the natural world is at the very heart of her work.
She has seven years of experience as a radio presenter, in both talk and music radio, as GIANT LOVER she holds the Sunday Morning breakfast slot on PlatformB radio, where she has been creating the popular specialist music show Hopeful Sunday Mornings since March 2020. She hosts a Saturday evening music and talk show on SteamFM GIANT LOVER’S Lighthouse which specialises in live performances and interviews with Manchesters up and coming artists.
Her illustration work is described as ‘poignant, funny and sometimes sad or blistering’. Recording the innermost thoughts of My Birds and Other Creatures she playfully explores the ways living beings reveal their true feelings through the gaps between what they think and what they say, and what they tell themselves when they are alone.
She is self-represented and take clients on a limited basis. Inquire about my availability:
